I want to get a PPL, but I have some medical issues to deal with, am I qualified? I want to get a PPL, but I have some medical issues to deal with, am I qualified? I kinda have a long list, but I'm in pretty good shape. I'm 16 right now, and I might get to start flight training next summer through CAP. My issues are ADD, asthma, allergies, and eye problems. I'll describe them in the order that I think will be the least to worst of my troubles. Allergies-I really don't see how this will stop me from flying. I have food, environmental, and grass allergies, but they're irritating at worst, and I'm not allergic to airplanes. Eye problems-I have conditions known as strabismus and amblyopia, but they're correctible to 20/20, and I have normal color vision. Asthma-It used to be moderate, now it's mild at worst. I know that it's only possibly disqualifying if it has ever been medicated with steroids or resulted in hospitalization. I was hospitalized once for it at 6 months old, and I haven't taken steroids for it since I was 10. ADD-I know there are really confusing rules about this one. I know that I won't be allowed to fly while on stimulants. However, I quit taking medication for it a while ago and I'm off perfectly fine. This probably won't apply to me, but, since there are now nonstimulants (guanfacine), could pilots fly while on those? So what is and isn't a cause for concern? I'd be going for a 3rd class medical, btw. car insurance. Auto parts : Headset Dodge 2005. Heater Eagle 2006. Helmet Ford 2007. Hex Bit Set Geo 2008. Hex Bit Socket GMC 2009. Mitsubishi . Cadillac 3.6 Engine PerformanceCadillac has produced two 3.6 liter V-6 engines since being purchased by GM in 1909. The first engine produced was the 3.6 VVT (Variable Valve Timing) and the second engine produced was the 3.6 VVT DI (Variable Valve Timing, Direct Injection). 3.6 Liter VVT The first production of the 3.6 liter includes Variable Valve Timing to speed up or slow down the valve timing as needed. This engine produces 255 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 254 ft.-lbs. of torque at 2,800 rpm. 3.6 Liter VVT DI The second production of the 3.6 liter is the same engine as the original. It simply adds direct fuel injection. Direct injection feed fuels straight into the cylinder as opposed to into the intake. This engine produces 302 to 304 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 273 ft.-lbs of torque at 5,200 rpm. Applications The VVT version was installed in the 2003 to 2007 CTS, 2007 to 2009 STS and the 2007 to 2010 SRX. The VVT DI engine was included in the 2008 to present CTS (304 horsepower) and the 2010 to 2011 STS (302 horsepower). Mitsubishi . How to Adjust Valves on Honda VTX 1300S 2004 MotorcycleValve adjustments are one of the most difficult maintenance requirements to fulfill for most motorcycle owners, thanks to the sheer complexity of most motors. However, while most motorcycles use a shim-style valve adjustment method, Honda's VTX 1300S uses a convenient screw-style valve adjustment method that makes this painstaking process just a little bit easier. Some special tools are required to do the job, so pay a short visit to your local Honda dealer before undertaking this project. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Socket wrench 10, 12 and 17 mm sockets 5 mm Allen key Feeler gauge Honda valve adjusting wrench (Honda part #07908-KE90100) Step by Step : 1 Park the motorcycle and allow it to cool for at least 1 hour. Remove the cylinder shroud from the right side of the motor, by pulling the shroud's mounting tabs out of the motor's rubber grommets. 2 Using a 6 mm Allen key, remove the socket bolt from the rear of the passenger seat bracket. Remove the bolts on both side's of the passenger seat's grab strap with an 8 mm Allen key and pull the seat away from the motorcycle. Lift the sides of the front side up slightly and remove the socket bolts at the seat's corners using an 8 mm Allen key. Lift the rear of the seat up and pull to the it to the rear of the motorcycle to remove it. 3 Remove the bolt from the base of the fuel tank with a 12 mm socket. Lift the fuel tank upward. Squeeze the fuel line's hose clamp to loosen it and pull the fuel line off of the fuel valve. Unplug the speedometer's wiring connector from the motorcycle's wiring harness. Pull the fuel tank to the rear of the motorcycle and set it aside. 4 Remove the timing hole cover from the right side of the motor, using a 5 mm Allen key to remove the socket bolts from the cover's perimeter. Remove the timing cap with a 12 mm socket. 5 Remove the air supply hose and valve from the rear cylinder, using a 10 mm socket to remove the bolt from the valve's stay on the frame's spine. Remove the valve adjustment caps from both cylinders. 6 Place a 17 mm socket over the crankshaft's bolt in the timing hole. Locate the "FT" mark on the crankshaft's primary drive gear. Turn the crankshaft clockwise with your 17 mm socket until the "FT" mark is aligned with the index notch on the right side of the timing hole. Jiggle the socket wrench gently from side to side to check for slack in the rocker arms--a small amount of slack should be present. Rotate the crankshaft clockwise for one full turn with your socket wrench, and realign the mark if there is no slack. 7 Check the intake and exhaust valve clearances using a feeler gauge, measuring from the center of the valve out. The intake valve should have a clearance of 0.15 ± .02 mm; the exhaust valve should have a clearance of .30 ± .02 mm. Remove the feeler gauge. 8 Loosen the valve's lock nut with a Honda valve adjusting wrench and turn the adjusting screw clockwise to reduce the clearance, if necessary. (Turn the adjusting screw counterclockwise to increase clearance.) Check the valve clearances again with a feeler gauge. Make adjustments as needed, and tighten the adjusting screw's lock nut with a Honda valve adjusting wrench. 9 Using the 17 mm socket, rotate the crankshaft clockwise until the "RT" mark on the primary drive gear is aligned with the index notch on the right side of the timing hole. Inspect and adjust the rear cylinder's valve clearances as detailed earlier. Step by Step : 10 Reassemble the motorcycle in the reverse order of disassembly. Tips & Warnings Place the motorcycle on a stand or lift for additional stability and easier access to the motor. Valve adjustments must be made when the motor is cold. Adjustments made to a warm motor will not be accurate and may cause the motorcycle to run poorly. Do not attempt to adjust your motorcycle's valves unless you have the necessary equipment to perform the task properly. Improvised methods can cause serious damage to your motorcycle. *e* An adjustable wrench: Use this tool to unscrew the oil drain plug. If you're not sure what an adjustable wrench is, see Chapter 2. v* An oil drain plug gasket: This piece of equipment is inexpensive, and it's wise to buy one in case the one on your car needs replacing. If you buy your oil filter from a dealer, a new gasket may be in the package. Some vehicles don't have drain plug gaskets, relying instead on a tapered metal-to-metal contact to prevent oil leakage. Don't try to use a gasket on one of these. It won't work, and you may end up with your new oil in a pool on the floor. f Something to catch the oil: Find an old basin that's low enough to fit under your car without your having to jack up the car, and large enough to hold all the old oil — usually about 5 quarts. Line the basin with a large plastic garbage bag, opened so that it can catch the oil, leaving the basin clean. You can also buy a container made especially for holding old oil. These containers are reusable, but you have to wash them out and find a place 750

Rags: You should also have a clean, lint-free rag for wiping your oil dipstick and a dirty, old, thick rag that you don't mind throwing away. A work light: A work light helps you see better underneath the vehicle, and a flashlight can be awkward if you have to hold it between your teeth! Mitsubishi . Saturn L-Series. * Do the job systematically Always use a system when you do an oil change: Do each part of the job in order, and don't change that order from job to job. This may sound unduly restrictive if you like to improvise, but if you ignore this advice, you may find that you've added the new oil before replacing the oil drain plug or changing the filter. In either case, you wind up with your brand-new oil all over the ground and not enough oil in the engine to drive to the store for more. Also, the minute you replace the oil drain plug, always tighten it completely and put in the new oil. That way, you won't forget to put in the new oil. (Don't laugh; people have done that and have ruined their engines in a couple of miles.) Mitsubishi . Suzies first drive the car game?

If you do have to jack up your car, read Chapter 1 to be sure that Chapter 15: Changing Your Oil you do so safely. Block the wheels, use jack stands, and don't jack the car up too high, or the oil may not drain out of the oil pan completely. If you can, jack up the car so that the oil drain plug is at the lower end of the oil pan. In any case, be sure your gearshift is in Park or Neutral with the emergency brake on before you work on it. Place all the stuff you're going to use within easy reach so that you don't have to jump up and run around to the other side of the vehicle in the middle of the job. Now follow these easy steps to change your oil and oil filter: 1. Warm up your engine for two or three minutes so that the gook gets churned up and can flow out of the engine easily. Mitsubishi .
